Workshops and Speaking Services
During the 2020 global pandemic, our founder Quinelle Hickman began putting tips out on social media out of a desire to help ease the stress, anxiety, and depression felt around the globe. As well as bring couples (and families) closer together amid the increasing reports of breakups, tension, and violence while quarantined. What began as social media tips also led to the production of Counseling to Comfort™ in-person community events, organizational workshops, and guest speaking.
Our social media presence and impact revealed the need to build community for those who seek engaging conversations about juggling professional and personal stressors while coping with the chaos in the world. It was clear that discussing ways to avoid burn out and maintain a job, while maintaining your mental health AND your relationships is necessary to do. Whether you attend therapy or not. Potentially hundreds of millennials interacted with Counseling to Comfort™ emphasizing the stress, depression, and anxiety they feel around managing life, (romantic) relationships, and work tasks.
Thus Quinelle used her 11 years of experience and expertise in stress, depression, anxiety, and relationships to develop workshops and relatable and engaging talks. All focused on boosting mental health and navigating love and relationships while engagingly building community. Eliminating the stigma associated with talking to therapists. Which aligns with our mission to make speaking to a therapist feel as comfortable as it does speaking to a friend in your living room. Only that friend has practical and actionable tips with the proper training to teach you ways to handle your emotions.

My approach to speaking is to be relatable. I grew up in a community where discussing physical health was uncomfortable, and trying to discuss mental health was outright offensive! In my own household I got mixed messages that sounded like “you have to share what’s bothering you” and “don’t talk too much though, especially about family business”. With both perspectives in mind, I excel with audiences that struggle to find the balance between silently struggling and expressing their struggles in effective ways. Using the combination of my own story, passions, and professional expertise I find creative ways to deliver down to earth, educational, and thought provoking experiences for my audiences in person and online.

The goal of our workshops is to offer a dynamic and engaging experience that promotes active learning and practical takeaways. Participants will explore key mental health and relationship topics through interactive discussions, group activities, and myth-busting exercises. By the end of the session, attendees will have a deeper understanding of the subject matter and actionable strategies they can apply in their daily lives. The workshops foster a sense of community and open dialogue, making it easier to learn and grow together.
